There was a fairly short lived show called No Tomorrow. The basic premise was that one of the two main characters believed that a comet was going to hit the earth in several months and wipe out all life as we know it. He had tried warning everyone and failed, so had resorted to living out as many amazing experiences as he could. The other main character was his new girlfriend who didn’t always believe him, but was enamoured by his desire to live life to the fullest.
This inspired me to create an actual Apocalyst of my own. It’s a real book that I really add things to.
Today, I got the chance to cross the very first thing off of it.
I had shot the East Valley Veterans Day Parade in my home town back in November, and got several lovely shots, but there were a few that were really great (sadly, the photos aren’t up quite yet, but . . . you know, some day! Not my site, not my problem. 😉 ). One was, unsurprisingly, very popular with the local law enforcement:
So that was back in November. Last week, for a totally unrelated reason, I was on the phone with one of the parade organizers, and she mentioned that the police department loved it so much, that they had put it up in one of their departments. Which I was blown away by. But then she also mentioned that a local children’s museum had an exhibition going on right now called “Caped Crusaders and Everyday Heroes”, which was highlighting both superheroes and real men and women who saved people every day.
My photo was being featured in the exhibit.

Without trying. Without even KNOWING, I had completed my first bucket list goal.
Today I went and looked. It wasn’t quite what I had imagined. It was part of a larger informational section rather than a standalone feature, but I’m not one to quibble. I am seriously over the moon.
And yes. Of COURSE we took photos. Who are you even talking to? 😉
