I have been borderline obsessed with a specific work of art for almost half my life. It’s a French piece from the end of the 19th century by William-Adolphe Bouguereau called “Young girl defending herself against Eros.”
If you’ve been in my home, you know I have a framed print of it, but the print (or any print of an oil) just doesn’t do it justice.
So I have been incredibly excited for this weekend. My wife Kendra and I decided to take one last trip before Georgia comes to get our of town. We drove to LA specifically to go to the Getty so I could see this painting again and she could see it for the first time.
Too bad they don’t have it on display right now. Because of a really ugly Picasso. I mean UGLY.
Really REALLY too bad that they only took it down two. days. ago.
*sob*

Not the girl, the whole piece.
