“Lost” has landed . . .

. . . and I’m never flying again. Most people know that I’m afraid of flying anyway (there are over 1 million moving and/or electronic parts in an airplane. That’s a lot that can go wrong), but after having watched the first three episodes of J.J. Abrams’ new show “Lost,” there are two things that I have realized. One is that Abrams really is a genius and I can’t wait for episode 4 (they showed the first three in a row). And two is that since I can’t totally avoid flying forever, I’ve decided that I’m never going to take it for granted again.

Case in point. My brother now lives in the Florida Keys. I was always planning on visiting him this November after I’ve gotten back from Glasgow. Time is starting to be a constraint within the bounds of that month though, so I started thinking about buying a plane ticket and just putting it on a credit card. No more. Now it’s driving or nothing. Will it take 36 hours of actual driving time to get there? Certainly. More probably since I’m always getting lost. But it’s still better than having the plane break in half in mid-air. *shiver* Ugh, I get queasy thinking about it.

And on that lovely note, I’ll leave you all. But quickly, I wanted to include a late Happy Birthday to the always-beautiful Meggan Ladewig who turned 25 last Friday. I actually was in touch with her then, I just forgot to include my well-wishes publicly then. So Happy Birthday!

“It’s French! The French are coming! I’ve never been so happy to hear the French!”
